Meritorious Artist of Mongolia, Oyunchimeg is a one of Mongolia's finest painters and defining figure of the contemporary art of Mongolia.
Oyunchimeg Yadamsuren`s delicate and intimate portraits the viewer finds themselves getting a glimpse, not just at the beautiful women of Mongolia, but also a reflection of one of Mongolia`s finest artists. Oyunchimeg`s works have been exhibited in galleries worldwide bringing her many awards. She is far from being lost amidst her talented family, and as she is receiving more and more attention, she is recognized as a defining figure of contemporary Mongolian art.
The subject matter of her work, female portraiture, landscapes, and still life, where in less skilled artists hand these subjects could become tired and cliched, Oyunchimeg is able to produce moving and powerful works. In a recent series entitled Colors of Autumn, still lives defy their name as soft pinks, magentas, lilacs, and lemony yellows explode across the canvas in quick thick strokes. Her use of the same energetic pastels and expressive brushwork creates similar innovation in her landscapes. The artists`s true strength, however, lies in her realistic portraiture. Oyunchimeg modestly says that they are merely expressing a love of feminine beauty, yet it is instantly clear that they are so much more. The subjects are all women that Oyunchimeg knows personally and they look out from the canvas with shining eyes and silent smiles.
